Hi!
Just a brief little post to see if you like my ‘new look’ blog: personally I love this picture of peppers which I took a couple of summers ago when we were in our village of Assos down on the west coast of Turkey. The peppers were grown by friends Lutfi and Beyhan who run Biber Evi literally ‘Pepper House’ boutique hotel located right in the middle of the village. They had a staggering variety of peppers which they made into pickles and chutneys but sadly since then, the ruthlessly hot summers have all but put an end to their wonderful garden.
Here is the full picture part of which now forms the header of A Seasonal Cook in Turkey.
Yesterday with Salim, my wonderfully patient computer guy, we have updated the look of my blog. If you notice, you will see that I have swept up the awards to unclutter the overall look, and put them under a tab at the top.
He also added some of those social media buttons that I have finally overcome my fear of. All you have to do is click on them to see what they are all about.
- I love Pinterest, it’s fantastic. It’s a site for sharing pictures and in my case, also recipes. If I don’t look out, I can easily get carried away and spend a couple of hours at a time just looking and sharing …. click on it and see how you find it. It’s really fun, I promise you!
- Facebook is amazing and if you aren’t on it, don’t hesitate one more second, register and sign up. You don’t know what you are missing. I honestly don’t understand anybody who has reservations about it. Again in my case, go to my Page and click Like!! And I will tell you something more: let’s say you are looking at my page, you will notice that all YOUR contacts appear in the box there. Click on the top right hand corner where it says See All, and it enables you to go through YOUR contacts and invite them to like my page too. This is what social media is all about: sharing. This is how LIKES increase in leaps and bounds. I would really LOVE it if you could do that for me!
- Twitter is something that I have yet to get to grips with. Any suggestions more than welcome. I understand how to send tweets but further than that?
- And the final button is for flickr. This is a photography sharing site and is fabulous. I belong to the Photo Club of Istanbul and they communicate through this site so in all trepidation I have had to get to grips with flickr. This way you share your photos. My love of photography has increased exponentially with the growth of my blog and Istanbul is the perfect city in which to take pics.
this was actually dinner on the beach at Yahya‘s
Here’s hoping you like A Seasonal Cook in Turkey‘s new look! Any further suggestions gratefully received!
Many warm thanks!
