Chocolate Chip Cookies

  • 400g plain flour
  • 1 tsp bi carb soda / baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 250g margarine, not butter as we want these gooey. Butter makes them hard.
  • 3 Tbsp cocoa
  • 300g sugar
  • 2 Tbsp molasses / pekmez
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 2 large eggs
  • 250g pack of chocolate bits / melts
  1. Heat oven to 180C
  2. Gently melt margarine with the cocoa
  3. Mix in a large bowl the dry ingredients, flour, salt, soda and sugar
  4. Add melted margarine and cocoa, mix well
  5. Add in the molasses, vanilla and eggs
  6. Mix until completely bound
  7. Lastly add in the chocolate bits, mix well
  8. Roll dough into small balls and place on ungreased baking tray
  9. Bake until brown around the edges which will take roughly 10 minutes
  10. They will continue cooking a little after being removed from oven
  11. Allow to cool for 2 mins before putting on a cooling rack
